Gaming can bring about violent behavior.

[NOTE: I am plan on doing more research on this topic for myself.]

I touched on this subject in an earlier blog of mine, but after thinking about it some more, I realize that this just can't be blamed on poor parenting; it can also be blamed on sociopathic behavior.

Because when you hear about someone stabbing another gamer over a video game like Counter-Strike, that's because they are probably sociopaths. Who else would do this? "Well what about short tempered folks?" Usually short-tempered folks just resort to punching when they get rage-faced, this is stabbing.

SCENARIO: Sociopath likes to watch violent flicks or play violent games and they're bullied at school. They're probably going to be influenced by what they see. Not the developers fault as this world can be very nasty and as artists, game developers like to reflect that. Freedom of expression.

The solution for this would be to remove the sociopath from the violent media. Why should one bad egg ruin it for everyone? "But what about bad parenting, Mouse?" Then take the child away from the parents/legal guardian. Not easy, nothing is. Hard work is the key.

My point is, we can't just say that gaming can't influence violent behavior, because it can influence those were were unstable to begin with. I'm not saying it's the only thing that can do this, even a tennis game between a sociopath and his friend can trigger homicidal tendencies.

Goals.

Many people have goals that they have a desire to see attained, then all of a sudden they either lose sight of those goals or they mysteriously forget them or something drastic hinders them.

There are many people working 9 to 5 jobs, jobs that they hate, however most of these people have families they need to provide for. But what about those who do not have families or someone they look after? Is it really good for them to think there's nothing else for them? I don't think so.

I am reminded of a scene from Fight Club where Tyler Durden threatens to kill a young man. Why? To get him to quit his job at a convenient store and pursue his dream of becoming a Veterinarian.

Now I am not saying I want to threaten death on anyone, however for single individuals, male or female, I believe they should be woken up and made to realize that they are more than the mediocre job they are working.

It's a dream of mine to become a great journalist and I will achieve that goal.

I hope that you achieve yours, dear reader, as well.

Be well.

EA doesn't care. EA isn't here. EA gone.

EA is clueless about the gamer, despite owning actual game developers.

They're constantly following gaming trends for the purpose of making a quick buck and not for the benefit of the gamer who they claim to be all about.

No wonder many predict the downfall of EA.

Not dumping on their developers, just them and only them. They haven't changed one bit and all the good their developers do, they take all the credit.

Charlie Sheen no longer Winning.

After suffering from a severe case of the dreaded illness, "Eeyore-ism", Charlie Sheen no longer seems capable of tapping into his Win.

"I.. don't know what came over me" proclaims Sheen, "It's like having a sugar-crash turned up all the way to 11."

Currently, police investigators are searching through Sheen's home for any sign of illegal drugs and so far nothing is coming up. "He either went through the entirity of his stash or he really does have Eeyore-ism." Explains Sgt. Dingus Kaun of the Malibu P.D., "The illness sounds mentally retarded, but I guess.. it's possible?"

How do casual gamers, new to gaming, view old school games put up for digital distribution.

TSIA

I want comments on this one. I want to know if anyone knows any newer gamers who view older games with either a sense of "awe" or with disgust because of how dated the graphics look.

Here's why T.G.I. Friday's sucks.

They over cook their steaks and they water down the whiskey.
Why would anyone do this?

I once walked into my local TGIF and confronted the management about this. I was cussed at and spit on and this resulted in fisticuffs in the same vein as an action movie.

As the fight lingered on, the cops showed up. I escaped by jumping out of a window and landing in the front seat of my car (windows down).

And that's why TGIF sucks.

Sony needs to advertise their exclusives properly.

[NOTE: This is mostly from my perspective.]

Last year we saw the release of Killzone 3, Socom 4, Uncharted 3, Infamous 2, and Resistance 3.

Uncharted 3 undoubtedly did the best in 2011 and had good advertising.

But what about the other games I mentioned? Not a lot of people knew about them and while the games did have buyers, they still sold below what was expected.

However, when a COD game is released, Sony likes to make it clear that COD can be played online, for free, with their system. Also, if a multiplatform game will give PS3-users a special item, Sony just loves to make that known instead trying to entice gamers to buy their exclusives.

Here is a link to VGChartz.com's list of the PS3's best-selling games since launch (look at the top 20): http://www.vgchartz.com/platform/3/playstation-3/

Exclusives: 6. Non-exclusives: 14. Look at how they're positioned.

The problem is either Sony isn't marketing anything the right way or their developers are not very good.

You be the judge.

Violent behavior.

Has existed before Pong.

If little Johnny is acting up in school, starts a fight, bullies, or brings a gun to school, it is most likely due to either poor parenting or mental disorder. That's it.

Even if a game was capable of triggering violent behavior, it's not the game's fault or the developer's fault. The blame can only be placed on poor discipline or a problem within the brain.

That's just my two cents on the subject.

Please comment if you have something to say. :]

I like PC gaming.

Why? Because if I decided to play an old multiplayer game, I know that there's a chance of it still having a playerbase.

For instance, you do not hear about anyone playing Left 4 Dead 2 on Xbox 360 anymore, but you'll usually hear about it being played on the PC.

Diablo 2, a game which came out in 2000 is still being played despite Diablo 3 being released.

No hooking up old systems to play anything, nothing.

Also, I am not hating on consoles, but really, it's much more convenient to play on a PC and with Steam it can end up being cheaper. Right now on Steam you can buy both Deus Ex games and all it's DLC for $14.99. How cheap can a console game get non-used? $19.99 at best.

Also, and I am not promoting this, if you're really desperate to get a game, you can always just pirate (only if desperate).

Think about it.

"Xbox 720": Joke title or serious?

I was on IGN.com this morning and I read an article about a leaked document which revealed the next generation console for Microsoft. The document supposedly revealed the name (Xbox 720 *gasp*), price, features, and 5 year plan and Microsoft's law firm, "Covington & Burling", managed to get the leaked document removed from the original source.

When IGN asked M.S. about this, the billion dollar company responded with the same spiel about not commenting on rumors and speculation.

Now, obviously, I can only treat this as a rumor, but it's still interesting. Sometimes leaks like this are completely correct, sometimes they are partially correct, a little bit correct, or not at all.

Of course, it's more likely that M.S. is not ready for anything to be released and that is why they had that document taken down.

I do believe that "Xbox 720" is most likely a code-name. Yeah, it's probably going to be an "Xbox" system, but the use of 720 doesn't seem possible at all. Why? Because of how it's always been used as a form of mockery by critics of the Xbox 360 console.

If Microsoft does use this, it could increase that mockery. But then again, they've received it for others things and probably would see this as no big deal.

Here's the link to the IGN article that I read: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/16/xbox-720-price-features-revealed-in-rumored-document

I will be posting more on this when more details are revealed.

I remember how Socom US Navy Seals offered voice recognition.

All gamers needed was a headset and we could control our ally-AI by voice.

No fancy gimmicks.

Kinect, Move, and Wiimote is silly.

I hate them.

(Xbox 360) Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

This was a surprise. The demo for this new Splinter Cell has Sam Fisher going to someplace in the middle east to retrieve a target that the U.S. government had been seeking. Stealth still plays a factor obviously, but you can also find yourself taking out multiple targets with a slow motion effect which looks really, really cheesy.

There's also Kinect voice recognition. Ew. :[ Oh sure, it's neat, but why can't I just use my headset?

(PS3) The Last of Us.

The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic, third person survival action-adventure game, set after a zombie breakout. Developer: Naughty Dog.

Haven't played a game like this before. According to the demo shown at E3, you have to rely on stealth and at times, taking hostage of your enemies (human enemies, not the zombies). Due to the "clicking" sound made by the zombies, the creatures are referred to as "clickers".

I don't remember seeing this in the video, but according to articles that I have read on the game, you have to manage your ammo and health kits.

The game is set in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. You play as Joel and he is followed around by a young girl named Ellie (who apparently was rescued by Joel after the zombie outbreak).

Looks fun. I am definitely looking forward to this game and I see that the combat looks similar to the Uncharted series. Of course, I know that the game is not going to have a lot of ammo to pick up.

Hopefully it has online co-op.

(PS3) God of War Ascension comes out 3-12-2013.

A prequel game about Kratos, star of the God of War series. The game will focus on Kratos before he became the "Ghost of Sparta".

Looks gruesome.

Never really could get into the God of War series, personally. I found that Xmen Origins Wolverine was much better even though it was looked down upon for being a clone of GoW and a movie-based game.

Hopefully it turns out good.

- Mouse

(PS3) J.K. Rowling's Book of Spells.

A PS Move, Harry Potter game. In this game you learn how to cast the spells that were in the Harry Potter series of books.

Looks interactive, but, it's just another game to sell the gimmick that was started by Nintendo's Wii.

(multiplatform) Fall Cry 3 will have 4-player co-op.

Yes.

It looks really good so far. When they announced it, I was worried they were going to make it a rip-off of Gears of War's Horde mode and Call of Duty's Zombie mode.

This is good for me because I have been wanting more co-op games.

(multiplatform) Black Ops 2 looks very underwhelming.

It looks like Treyarch took Halo 2, fixed up the graphics a bit, and replaced all of H2's guns with actual military weaponry.

It didn't even look that sci-fi to tell you the truth. :|

I'll be posting a video on this article, later.

(PS3) Uncharted 3 review by J.W. Mouse.

J.W. Mouse uses a 0-5 scale for all his reviews. 5 is best.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This review will be short and sweet.

This game gets a 3 out of 5. Why? Because aside from having a good story and immersive gameplay, the controls are laggy and the story is just too short when compared to Uncharted 2. The multiplayer once again lacks dedicated servers and for some reason, the controls feel even more laggy (it's not my connection).
The game also has killstreak rewards reminiscent of of a COD game, which is annoying because the 2nd game in the series was just pure mutiplayer. However, matchmaking does seem to run very smooth, which is more than I can say for the actual matches that it takes me into.

All in all, UC3 is still a fun experience. I continue to have fun with the campaign, which is actually more fulfilling than the hair-pulling expertience of it's MP.

(PC) I am looking forward to Double Fine's Point and Click game.

Never played one of those kinds of games before, but I am willing to give it a try. Also, if I want to see more games like this then I have to buy them when they come out (when I can afford to of course).

Too much COD and too many of it's clones out on the market. This maybe my disdain for COD, but it feels like COD affects too many of the current generation of video games across all the platforms. For instance, games like Gears of War 3, Killzone 3, Socom 4, and Uncharted 3 like to take from COD little gems such as killstreak rewards and perks.

Although if this game contains a multiplayer mode where I am able to point and click way for killstreak rewards, I am going to be very disappointed.

So I will buy this project from Double Fine and it will be first game I have bought from them (I regret this) and I hope that anyone who reads this buys it too.

Weight Watchers sucks.

This was created on 8-23-06 for on 1up.com's blogging section. It is mine and I am proud of it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ya rly....they do.

And not only because they allow for their commercials to trick people into thinking that eating WW health food ( which can look very similar to the unhealthy food that WW's costumers used to eat ) alot will cause them to continue to stay healthy and fit, but because they won't admit that their food can do more damage than the so-called "evil junkfood". It doesn't matter how much "low-fat tofu" one puts into their health food because that doesn't change the fact that eating too much of that stuff can still mess up somebody pretty badly due to the fact that it doesn't have all things a human body needs; You need carbs and you need moderation just like you need moderation with unhealthy food.
REMEMBER REGULAR SODA CAN CAUSE DIABETES BUT DIET SODA CAN DO MUCH WORSE!

But at least it can help suppress your appitite so who cares.

lol sarcasm

lol@weightlossideaswhenallyouneedismoderation,exercise,&commonsense.

Why do people think that eating too much health food is going to be good for them anyway? Here's a scenario of why I think this:

Healthfood Fanatic: Hey I'm pretty hungry after eating that Thai Creamy Carrot Soup that Weight Watchers recommended on their site! I'll think I have five bowls of Shrimp Scampi.

Healthfood Fanatic: Hey I'm still hungry! But I think I'll reward myself for my "excellent fitness" by indulging in Raspberry Chocolate Cups that I learned how to make thanks to Weight Watchers! If it's their recipe then it must be great for burning fat! After all, anything by WW can do no wrong.

Attention Call of Duty fans: You want your franchise to change, huh?

Been wanting to make an article about this.

I was recently made aware, from a youtuber I watch, that on 4-20-12 there was suppose to be a blackout for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Now I don't play the game, so I didn't hear about this when it was relevent, but apparently, a lot of COD players cracked and played COD on the blackout day when Infinity Ward gave everyone a Double-XP Weekend.

People, there are power in numbers. You think those COD players won anything with what I.W. gave them? No. I.W. won. The blackout idea was proposed because people were angry with their beloved franchise and how certain things weren't getting fixed. When I used to play COD, I was getting frustrated over the randomness of the multiplayer. You know what I did? I quit. Now I play other games. If more people did that, it would cause Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Activision to wake up and get this franchised fixed for the better.

People, you know why online protests get laughed at? Because it's usually made up of individuals who normally do not have the stomach to actually do something for change.

I play World of Warcraft. If other fellow World of Warcraft players decided to cancel their subs for an entire weekend, I would join them. Why would we do this? To get certain things changed of course. Even though, I am having a lot of fun with WoW, I recognize that there are certain things that are wrong with the game.
If there was a weekend protest dedicated to getting class, pve, and pvp balence, then I would join it (power in numbers).
